Season Two, Episode One Trump & Football

Hello everyone! We've missed you very much and hope you've missed us too!

We took the summer off to gallivant and work on other projects, but now we're back together and better than ever. You may notice some changes to our format as we improve our craft, and we hope you enjoy them.

We are rolling out our season premiere today and couldn't be more excited. We give it the proverbial kick off with a segment we call "Trumping The Election." In our second half, we will be talking about Football in America. We are likely to ruffle more than a few sports feathers...but you know we love to hear your disagreement (or agreement...)

Please give us a listen, and then join the discussion!

Welcome back to Honestly!!

Episode 13- Obama's Report Card & Favorites

Lucky number 13 is here!

This week, we're rating Obama's Presidency (so far) and talking about his successes, failures, highs and lows. We discuss what our expectations were, and how he measured up. Will you agree or disagree with our points of view? Listen in and find out--we'd love to hear your report card for the President as well.

In our ladder segment, we'll be mixing it up and doing a little Q&A with one another about our favorite things. It's a lighter, funnier, more personal segment, and we hope you will enjoy and play along, telling us some of your favorite things as well!!

We hope you will enjoy another week of Honestly!!

Episode 11- Riots & Gay Marriage

Given all of the events of the past week, we decided we needed to talk about riots in general. We are taking it as a broad subject, but also tying in a lot of the events from Baltimore this week.

We have talked about race as it relates to these topics as well, and you can access that past podcast by CLICKING HERE. We aren't going to cover racism as a focus in this segment, although we will discuss it some (just not in as much detail.)

There is an article we discuss in this week's podcast by Mother Jones. We encourage everyone to give this a read, as it is central to the conversation we're having specifically concerning the Baltimore riots, but it's also very important news. Access that by clicking HERE.

The other subject we're covering is gay marriage. As some of you may know, this is a topic being debated in the Supreme Court right now. They won't rule on it until summer, but this is big deal for gay rights advocates and the gay community in general. We are talking about the arguments being made in the Supreme Court and letting our hair down just a little in this segment.

We hope you will share our podcast with your friends, and help our growth! Enjoy this week's episode.

Episode 10- 2016 Presidential Race & Pit Bulls

It's our 10th episode!!!!! Hard to believe, and we are really excited. This has to be one of our favorite episodes so far, and our energy just soars. Though, we may not make too many friends on this one.

First up, we're talking about the 2016 Presidential Race. The candidates. The parties. The whole nine yards. We can't wait to hear what you all think and what your early predictions might be.

Second, we're really going there with a discussion on the pit bull breed. This gets passionate, and a little snarky, and we know that pit bull owners are very defensive...so they may not like what we have to say. We look forward to your comments on this one--love us or hate us--there is bound to be a lot on both sides of the fence.

Get your boxing mitts ready...this is podcast offers a one-two punch!

Episode 9- Conspiracy Theories & Freewill

Wow, can you guys believe it's our 9th episode? Thanks again (and as always) for listening to our podcast. The rhythm is really becoming established now and we're so happy to be a part of your weekly routine!

This week we're talking about conspiracy theories--are they real, or just for fun? Why does the moon landing conspiracy theory make people so angry whereas others, such 9/11, don't?

Also, we are talking about whether or not freewill is real. That is a particularly existential question and one we have debated privately many times.
We're excited to hear what you guys all think of our topics. Please feel free to comment in--agree or disagree--you know we love some good banter! This week is a little lighter, nothing too heavy...but next week we're gonna flare up again, so be prepared!

Episode 8, Faux Pas and Love

The past couple of weeks have been REALLY heavy...so we're lightening things up a little and giving you a little insight into our past! The first segment talks about the faux pas we've made in our lives as our former selves. We've both got some good ones, so listen in!

The second segment portion of the show has to do with love. Do you believe in love at first sight? Or does love build and blossom over time? What about unrequited love? Are unrequited lovers the overlooked heroes of the love world?

All that on Honestly this week!

As always, we hope that you will comment in and share with us your insights and opinions! Thanks for listening to our podcast.

Episode 7, Sexual Assault & "Wussification"

Hi everyone! Welcome to another week here at Honestly. We are putting our podcast out a day early...think of it as an Easter gift from us to you.

This week comes with a  serious trigger warning because we are talking about sexual assault. The main focus of the conversation is going to be about sexual assault on college campuses, as there have been some initiatives in the Obama Administration concerning how reported cases are handled on college campuses. But we are also talking about the subject in general.

The other topic we're discussing, thankfully less heavy than the lead topic, is the "wussification" of America. You know...things like preschool graduation and every kid getting a trophy. Do you think it's okay to give kids things they clearly didn't earn? Or is more fair?

Episode 6, Racism & The Lonely Society

Thanks again for joining us here on Honestly for another podcast. We are happy to be joining you for another week!

CLICK HERE to listen to our podcast on SoundCloud.

In light of many recent events in the media, we've decided to tackle the topic of racism as our primary topic. We understand that is a touchy subject and have tried to approach it with the utmost respect. In our podcast, we reference an article from PBS titled, "Millennials don't how to talk about race, and that's a problem." Click THIS LINK if you are interested in reading the article.  We are extremely interested in continuing an already ongoing conversation, so we welcome your comments, but with a warning this week that any blatantly offensive comments will be deleted, as we will not tolerate any abusive language.

Our second topic is "The Lonely Society," where we are reduced to online personas and no longer have as many interactions with people in real life. Is the new digital age a blessing or a curse? Is it both? Obviously we make use of the technology, but where is our society headed as a result.

We hope you listen to, enjoy and share our podcast!!

Episode 5, Guns & Transgender Issues

Here's the latest (and dare we say, greatest) episode of Honestly. It's hard to believe we are in our fifth episode, and yet, here we are. Thanks to our listeners--we are really feeling like we are picking up steam. We hope you will comment in and share with you friends.

This episode might get you heated because we are talking two hot button issues: gun ownership and transgender issues. You may be surprised where we fall on these issues!

Episode 4, GMOs & Childhood

Here at Honestly, we're keeping it rolling with our fourth episode. It's hard to believe we're already in our fourth week, and we, of course, would like to thank everyone who has been tuning in to listen to us. We hope that you will share our podcast with your friends and comment in often, either here or on our FaceBook page.

This week, we are talking about Genetically Modified Foods and childhood.

Should we be allowed to modify foods at the genetic level? Should we be worried, or it all a lot of worry for nothing? Where do you think we'll fall on the issue? Listen in to find out! Then, we take on childhood...from expecting children to sit in a classroom for eight hours a day to extending the age of adulthood, what does it mean to be a child in 2015?

Both topics are loaded, and there are bound to be all sorts of feelings. We wanna hear yours.

Episode 3, Drones & Marriage

Happy Sunday, everyone! We hope you remembered to spring forward today, and that you haven't lost too much sleep.

In this week's episode we are talking about drones (both military and domestic) and the ever-present institution of marriage. Should drones be in use domestically? How about militarily? Where do you think we will fall on these issues?

When it comes to marriage, is it relevant any longer, or just a ploy to get people legally entangled? You know us, we're getting honest with it and we hope you will too!!

We welcome all comments, and we hope you will share with your friends as well!
