Season Two Episode Three- Weight & Body Image and Fears/Phobias

Welcome to a new week of Honestly! We are really excited to have you back.

This week we are talking about body image and weight issues. This is a loaded topic, or as Paul says, it's just thorny for women in general. I tend to agree. While men have lots of issues surrounding weight as well, women have a unique row to hoe when it comes to the messages we are sent about the way we look. We are taking an encompassing look at the issue--though there is a ton of ground to cover.

In our second segment we lighten it up a little and talk about fears and phobias. Of particular interest is what sparked us doing this segment at all...but you'll have to listen in to hear the story!

Of course, you can listen to it right here, or, you can find us on iTunes. We hope you will subscribe to our iTunes feed and if you enjoy our podcast, please leave us a review! CLICK RIGHT HERE TO ACCESS OUR iTunes FEED!

Season Two, Episode Two- Mass Shootings & Motherhood

This week we are getting into the serious topic of mass shootings in our country. This is in light of the shooting in Oregon, which has shocked and saddened us. Paul and I are discussing whether reform is possible, and sharing our views on how we got to this place in our country. This conversation is likely to bring up strong feelings, so we hope that people will join the discussion and comment in!

The second half of this week's program is a bit different for us; Paul will be interviewing me about my experience with motherhood so far. I sincerely hope you enjoy that segment, and possibly relate to it in some ways!

Listen in, and don't forget, we are now on iTunes!!!

Episode 13- Obama's Report Card & Favorites

Lucky number 13 is here!

This week, we're rating Obama's Presidency (so far) and talking about his successes, failures, highs and lows. We discuss what our expectations were, and how he measured up. Will you agree or disagree with our points of view? Listen in and find out--we'd love to hear your report card for the President as well.

In our ladder segment, we'll be mixing it up and doing a little Q&A with one another about our favorite things. It's a lighter, funnier, more personal segment, and we hope you will enjoy and play along, telling us some of your favorite things as well!!

We hope you will enjoy another week of Honestly!!

Episode 12- Pity & Art Versus Entertainment

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there.

For today's episode, we're veering a little by not covering a political topic in the podcast. We make the rules, so we can break the rules--it's just how we roll. Anyway, it's a pseudo holiday weekend, so we're mixing it up.

This week, we're talking about pity, a worthy subject. Is pity an emotion that gets enough credit? Or it is undervalued? We are debating the nature of pity itself. This seems fitting on a day such as Mother's Day because there are a lot of parents who have lost their children, or children who have lost their parents. We touch on that briefly, and it's something worth thinking about a day like today where lots of people are celebrating...and yet others are not.

The second subject we discuss is art versus entertainment. In a society where we've made reality television a mainstay, where is the high art? Furthermore, is high art perverted these days into something that can only be enjoyed by the upper crust of society? We're getting into it, and we hope you will join the conversation!
