Episode 12- Pity & Art Versus Entertainment

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there.

For today's episode, we're veering a little by not covering a political topic in the podcast. We make the rules, so we can break the rules--it's just how we roll. Anyway, it's a pseudo holiday weekend, so we're mixing it up.

This week, we're talking about pity, a worthy subject. Is pity an emotion that gets enough credit? Or it is undervalued? We are debating the nature of pity itself. This seems fitting on a day such as Mother's Day because there are a lot of parents who have lost their children, or children who have lost their parents. We touch on that briefly, and it's something worth thinking about a day like today where lots of people are celebrating...and yet others are not.

The second subject we discuss is art versus entertainment. In a society where we've made reality television a mainstay, where is the high art? Furthermore, is high art perverted these days into something that can only be enjoyed by the upper crust of society? We're getting into it, and we hope you will join the conversation!
